We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised person to join our Member Services team as a Student & Trainee Officer.

The role

This is an exciting role that will work with the Institute of Physics’ (IOP) members in the Associate Member category in order to offer the full range of benefits and services available to them, and to support the marketing team in recruitment and retention campaigns.

Job responsibilities include:

·         Developing and implementing the IOP’s student and scientific apprentice engagement plan

·         Working closely with the marketing team to support the student recruitment and retention plans

·         Running physics events for students, trainees and scientific apprentices across the UK/ROI and internationally

·         Leading on engagement with university student affiliated societies across university physics departments

·         Working with the Head of International and Member Services, and the Member Development Manager to develop a dynamic offer that promotes the engagement of students and scientific apprentices

The Person

We are looking for a dependable and flexible person to take on this role. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to positively communicate with others. You will have great attention to detail and you will be computer literate.

The successful individual will have experience of working in a membership organisation and/or with volunteers. You will be able to engage students or have experience working in student outreach and/or have a good understanding of the apprenticeship route.
