Due to growth in the team, we are seeking a driven Project Manager to join us at the Institute of Physics (IOP) in the Programme Office.

The Roles

This is an exciting role that will deliver high priority projects and support the Head of Programme Office to establish and lead an effective PO function for the Institute.

The project manager will work closely with various teams on exciting new and ongoing projects. They will be expected to drive projects forward in coordination with the respective teams and management boards/committees, ensuring successful delivery and an effective handover following project closure.

Responsibilities include:

  • Apply key project management expertise to projects across the organisation
  • Specify and deliver project plans, securing stakeholder input and commitment from the early stages of an idea through to submission of a detailed proposal
  • Engage with project stakeholders to shape and support delivery of the required outcomes
  • Support project delivery teams by monitoring progress and documenting, resolving or escalating risks and issues as appropriate
  • Design and produce reports for relevant boards/committees as required

The Person

We are looking for a candidate who is proactive and organised in their work. They will have excellent time management skills, and can use this to prioritise demands across projects, programmes and other activities with minimal supervision.

They will be customer-focused and able to communicate effectively in order to exceed the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers/partners. It is important that the candidate is knowledgeable in understanding the tools and techniques of project management.
