Due to growth in the team, we are seeking a driven and a proactive Programme Manager to join us at the Institute of Physics in the Science and Innovation Office.

The role

This is an exciting role that will create and deliver high impact data insight services and knowledge exchange programmes to meet the needs of the physics community across academia and industry, and which plays into major UK and Irish policy themes.

The Programme Manager will have considerable experience and understanding of issues affecting the HEI STEM sector and the business innovation landscape in the UK and Ireland; and will develop strong relationships with senior stakeholders in government, academia and business to effect change.

Responsibilities include:

  • Embedding new data insights capability within the Institute, which will involve working with internal and external key decision makers and implementation teams
  • Developing science and innovation programmes to tackle global issues and address challenges set out in the Government’s industrial strategy
  • Creating publications and digital content to support knowledge exchange and influence policy
  • Securing funding and partnerships to build capacity and deliver impact.
  • Managing relationships with a diverse range of influential stakeholders.

 

The Person

We are looking for a candidate who is proactive and organised in their work. They will have excellent partnership and stakeholder management skills, and can use this to prioritise demands across programmes and other activities with minimal supervision.

They will have good communication skills and knowledge of working at the interface of policy, academia and industry. It is important that the candidate is knowledgeable in understanding the tools and techniques of programme management as well as data insights and knowledge exchange.
