Due to growth in the team, we are seeking a driven and a proactive Science and Innovation Coordinator to join us at the Institute of Physics in the Science and Innovation department.

The role

This is an exciting role that requires administration support to the Science & Innovation department and its activities. The role involves communication and marketing of projects and events as well as delivering a number of events and projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out marketing activities, including preparation of marketing collateral, delivering e-campaigns, arranging advertising and carrying out telephone campaigns.

 

  • Organising monthly departmental meetings, events, workshops, launch parties and bi-annual away-days.

 

  • Handling diaries, appointments, making arrangements for travel and accommodation and correspondence.

 

  • Facilitating the preparation and distribution of departmental publications and reports.

 

  • Supporting financial procedures by preparing expenses forms, cheque requisitions, invoices and processing expenses.

The Person

We are looking for a professional who has previous experience in project coordinator or personal assistant position. Practical experience of marketing and working in a customer facing role is essential.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication, written and verbal, and interpersonal skills, personable and committed to customer focus. They will also have the ability to maintain the technical skills and knowledge required to undertake the tasks of the demanding role.

Takes responsibility for personal learning and improvement and has the ability to measure and manage own work, takes responsibility for tasks and decisions; sets clear objectives and measures; monitors process, progress and results.
