Implementation Coordinator (Fixed Term Contract)
Department: Learning and SkillsLocation: 37 Caledonian Road, London N1 9BU - Hybrid
Salary: £25,000 per annum
Job Advert Description:
We are seeking an experienced project coordinator to provide implementation support for the Learning and Skills team at the Institute of Physics on a fixed term basis for 2 years. This is a full-time position, with scope for flexible working across 35 hours a week.
The Institute of Physics is an open and inclusive organisation that welcomes and celebrates diversity. We understand that no candidate will meet every single desired qualification. If your experience looks a little different from what we've identified and you think you can bring value to the role, we'd love to learn more about you!
The Role
This exciting role as implementation coordinator will support the IOP’s Learning and Skills team in its mission to build a thriving, diverse physics community and play a part in solving the STEM skills shortage. You will be working across multiple projects to help ensure that all people, no matter their background or where they live, have access to world-class physics education and training.
As a part of our team, you will work alongside the Strategic Lead for Retention and Professional Community, activity managers within the department, and our Professional Support Coaches who are based across England and Wales. Within the IOP you will initially support our School Affiliation scheme, Physics Teacher Educator programme and our online discussion and events platforms, with the potential for your work to evolve alongside our priorities. You will liaise with our stakeholders to coordinate externally facing activities including event management and promotion.
The Person
Do you have a passion for organising events, customer relationship management and keeping projects on track? You will have great organisational and communication skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to work independently across multiple projects. Experience of an outward-facing project coordinator role working with external stakeholders is essential.
Additional experience that would be nice to have includes:
- event management
- customer relationship management software, notably Salesforce
- website maintenance – approving users and events
- financial reporting and budget management
Future of Work
The Institute of Physics is an inclusive employer and our people are at the heart of our approach to delivery. Following the impact of COVID-19, we have developed a new, innovative and exciting trust-based model of flexible working called How We Work. This empowers our staff to choose both individually and as a team how, when and where they work to deliver the goals of the organisation, acknowledging that there will be occasions where in-person meetings, collaborations and events will help generate greater impact.
The How We Work initiative is based on the principles of collaboration, trust, flexibility and agility. You will be allocated a ‘base’ office which can also be a chosen place of work. We would expect you to be able to travel to IOP head office around 6 times a year, with occasional travel to assist with large events.
