We are seeking a dynamic UI/UX Designer to join the Institute of Physics (IOP) in the IT department.

The role

This is an exciting role that will be working to provide design solutions to our digital products and services. The post holder will help to build and enhance our design principles, processes and tools in digital and data work, which underpins all that we do to help realise our strategic ambitions, taking responsibility for decisions that ensure correct design thinking and delivery.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the projects’ teams to scope and deliver creative solutions for the product direction, visuals and user experience
  • Creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction, design ideas and user experience
  • Executing all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to developers
  • Leading the work with the UI/UX Manager to create, test and deliver seamless user journeys between our digital products across multiple devices

The Person

We are looking for an organised and proactive individual who will have strong organisational skills, allowing them to maintain a structured approach to their work.

You will have the ability to create prototypes that can be rapidly shared for user testing, an in-depth understanding of UX/UI principles and responsive design and proficiency using Photoshop, Illustrator, prototyping tools, visual design and wire-framing tools.

You will have an excellent knowledge and proven experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Your significant experience and strong portfolio will demonstrate strong UI and visual design skills.
