We are seeking a pro-active individual to take on the role of Groups & Awards Officer within the Science and Innovation department.

The Role

This is an exciting role that enables the Institute’s special interest Groups to flourish, ensures good governance of Group activities, advises trustees and senior managers on procedural and constitutional issues and administers the Institute’s Awards.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Supporting all Institute Group activities
  2. Organising a variety of Institute committees
  3. Managing the Institute’s Honorary Fellows programme and annual Awards process

The Person

We are looking for someone with prior experience of committee administration including writing official papers and an awareness of governance issues and procedures.

You will also have the flexibility to deal with a wide range of enquiries and the ability to prioritise. The role involves a significant level of contact with Institute members, which requires a high level of diplomacy and tact in order to maintain good relationships while ensuring that Institute policies and procedures are appropriately followed.
