FPL Mentoring Team Lead

We are seeking an organised and driven individual to join our Future Physics Leaders (FPL) project as a Mentoring Team Leader.
The role
This is an exciting role that has been introduced to manage and lead a team of mentors, providing a clear and strategic direction for them. The Mentoring Team Leader will work with approximately 12 mentors, 24 schools and teacher training providers to improve the recruitment and retention of physics teachers. The Mentor Team Lead must influence senior leaders in schools so that the team can recruit and train a group of experienced physics teachers to become the next generation of mentors.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- To lead a team of 12 Mentors
- To manage the mentoring budget for the project; which equates to £150,000
- To oversee the national coordination of the FPL mentoring scheme
- Introduce additional support for the recruitment and retention of NQTs in selected schools

The Person
We are looking for a proactive and dependable individual to join our FPL team in the Education department. You will need to have considerable experience teaching or mentoring teachers, preferably within physics.
As this role is predominantly working from home, you will need to have strong self-discipline with the ability to work at a high standard with minimum supervision.
You will be a strong leader with the ability to promote and generate cooperation to achieve collective outcomes, fostering the development of a common vision.
