Interim Irish National Manager - Consultant Needed

We are seeking a dynamic, innovative and influential interim ‘Irish National Manager’ to manage relationships, provide strategic insight and scope out the Institute’s business plan for the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The role

This is an exciting role that will play an integral part in achieving IOP’s ambitious new strategy to ensure a strong and diverse physics work force across the UK and Ireland. This is a leadership role expected to liaise with key stakeholders in the physics community as well as externally and to explore where the IOP can achieve the greatest strategic impact in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The post-holder will be required to define the IOP’s business plan and programme of work needed to implement organisational strategy as well as identify the resources and appropriate permanent staff structure required to deliver. The post-holder will manage the IOP Ireland Co-ordinator and will be required to travel regularly across Ireland as well as at least six trips per year to the London office.

The Person

We are looking for a pro-active individual with proven leadership skills and effective communication who is able to influence others, innovate and create impact. Experience of developing successful working relationships and implementing business plans and organisational strategy is essential. We require a hands-on team player who can co-operate, lead and inspire others to achieve a common goal, is a fast learner, customer focused and has the functional/technical skills required to perform the role at a high level.
